Packing the right way can make or break your vacation. Pack to much and you will be out money and will be inconvenienced by heavy bags or having to dig thro9ugh unnecessary items. Pack to little and you may be spending money on overpriced items you need or find yourself, wet, cold or hot or even out of medicine with no way to resolve the issue. For these reasons, it is important that you start packing early and check of items as you go.
Aside from the right clothing, there are certain items that you will need to have with you no matter where you are traveling. To help you with this, here is a list of the top travel packing tips to help you. Take advantage of this checklist before you travel to make the most of your next trip.
- U.S. Passport or other recommended ID – Carry On or on your person
- Entry documentation for the country you will be visiting including Visa if required
- Medication that you need for my trip plus a few extra days worth and in its original container
- Receipts or registration, CBP Form 4457, for any new electronics, such as a camera or laptop. Generally, not necessary for goods more than 6 months old
- Proof of rabies vaccinations and health check for my pets if they are traveling with you. Check with both your airline and your destination before you go.
- Appraisals or receipts if you are traveling with jewelry. Note: it is always a bad idea to travel with expensive jewelry if not necessary as it may not be covered if your baggage is lost or stolen.
